Romans 8:5-8 shows the struggle between a believer’s flesh and spirit. The flesh-thinking on worldly things versus the spirit-thinking on Godly things. But read on, for Holy Spirit has made it possible to live by Him, in the spirit rather than the worldly things of the flesh.
Romans 8:9-11 shows us three “I”s of the Holy Spirit:
INHABITS – Holy Spirit dwells in you. Verse 9: But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.
INVIGORATES – Holy Spirit makes us alive, truly alive. Verse 10: And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
INSURES – Holy Spirit who lives in you is the insurance policy that one day your mortal body will be given immortality. Verse 11: But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
2 Corinthians 4:16 – Although your outward man is perishing, your inward man is being renewed day by day.
It’s your choice now. You are a Christian living with the Holy Spirit in you. But is He merely a resident in your life? Or is the president in your life — the one that leads and directs you in all things.
There are about 320 hours in each month. Our church doors are open 8 hours. If Holy Spirit is president in your life, you should be able to make the time to be there.
