HIS INSTRUMENTS

I will give them one heart and one purpose: to worship Me forever. Jeremiah 32:39 (NLT)
Satan was created to be the vessel through which worship would flow back to God. He was created with timbrels, pipes (Ezekiel 28:13) and stringed instruments (Isaiah 14:11). He was the “seal of perfection” and that “every precious stone was [his] covering.” (Ezekiel 28:13).
Ezekiel 28:15 tells us satan was “perfect in [his] ways from the day [he was] created”… until iniquity was found in him.
What was this iniquity? He wanted to be worshiped.
Satan said in his heart “I will ascent into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.” Is 14:13-14
And how did he accomplish being worshiped?
Worship to God passed through the instruments satan was created with. However, he was stealing some of the worship for himself: “By the abundance of your trading you became filled with violence within, and you sinned.” Ezekiel 28:16. This “abundance of trading” can be likened to a clerk at a clothing store that sells a suit for $300, but by the “abundance of trading” keeps $100 for himself, and only puts $200 in the cash register. This stolen worship caused one-third of the angels to worship satan. “…he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Revelation 12:9. Satan’s plan has always been to steal worship, even to this day. “So they worshipped the dragon who gave authority to the beast…. All who dwell on earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelation 13:4, 9
The only people on earth not worshiping him are those of us who are saved. Even though satan will never get our worship, he certainly works overtime to stop us from worshiping God.
When God cast satan out of heaven he likely taunted God and said, “now who will be your worship leader? Who will there be to worship you? God’s answer is found in Genesis 1, The Creation: Imagine God bending down, squeezing a lump of dirt in His hand, breathing His Spirit into this lump, slamming it down on the ground, and shouting, MAN! MAN WILL WORSHIP ME!
Man was created with the same instruments of worship that Satan was created with. Satan was created with timbrels (percussion instruments), pipes (wind instruments) and stringed instruments.
Man was created with the same three instruments: Percussion instruments-our hands and our feet when we clap, raise our hands, and dance before the Lord. Stringed instruments—vocal cords. Wind instruments- the breath that passes through the cords to create the voices of song and praise.
God desires our worship, but worship is not a passive act, it is an active act. We see this in Matthew 4:8-9 when satan tempted Jesus and said, “…. If You will fall down AND worship me.”
Worship does not happen just in your mind, there also needs to be action. Satan wanted Jesus to show His worship by falling on His knees.
When we worship, we need to express the worship through action. Not only do we sing with our voices, but shout, clap our hands, raise our hands to God, bow down, kneel before him and dance before Him. So much will happen when we use all our instruments to worship God—the glory of the Lord will fill our church!!
