DOES GOD CARE FOR YOU?
Do you ever feel like God doesn’t care about you? We have all been there. Some are there today.
Psalm 22:1 … why are you so far from helping me? Jesus words on cross but we all feel like this at times.
Luke 12:6-7 the hairs of your head are numbered you are valuable to God. How could you think He doesn’t care about you?
We think sometimes if God really cares for me wouldn’t I feel better? Wouldn’t things be better for me? All kinds of situations and circumstances come up in your life to test you to see if you know that God cares for you.
Sometimes your feelings say if God were good why doesn’t He come through for me now? If God cares life would be easy – many Christians think this.
The truth is God never promised that you would have a life without problems having everything that you want. You live in a fallen world—it’s just not a problem free place. Troubles in your life are NOT evidence that God does not care for you.
Two things that God has promised us: His presence and His peace in good times and in times of trouble.
Scriptures that evidence this truth:
Hebrews 11:35-40
Isaiah 41:10,13
Psalm 23
Psalm 32:8 I will guide you along the best pathway for your life, I will advise you and watch over you (NLT).
Every pathway in our life will have troubles. But if we go God’s way, we can overcome those troubles.
What do you do when you ask God to take pain away but its still there? He will get you through it no matter how you feel as long as you trust Him. He will make everything right in the end. Jesus always wins. He will be with you and despite the trouble and how you feel you will still have peace.
Two reasons why you have to go through troubles:
(1) God wants you to mature and get serious about Him.
1 Peter 5:10 – After you suffered a little while he will restore, support, and strengthen you (NLT).
Two suggestions of how to deal with troubles:
(i) Have a flashback of what God has already done for you instead of what is in front of you now.
Psalm 77:10-12 meditate on the works God has already done in your life.
(ii) Be strengthened by the faith of other people and their testimonies.
(2) You go through it so you can have a testimony that will give God glory.
Know that you are in good company. You aren’t the only one that has this trouble.
Paul asked God to take the thorn away – God said My grace is sufficient.
You say no, no, no– forget about the grace, get this thing out of my life. This is how we think sometimes. And then we wonder why isn’t God’s grace, His word, His presence sufficient enough for us?
God is grooming you to learn how to fight the battles you will face in life.
Exodus 5:22-23 – some of God’s best friends questioned him about this. Moses asked God why He hasn’t delivered His people yet instead of all the things that Pharoah is loading on them.
Psalm 42:9 David asks God why have you forgotten me? God do you care about me??
John 11:21 Martha says to Jesus only if He had been there Lazarus would not have died.
He has promised His presence, and He has promised His peace while we go through the troubles.
