SERMON DOES GOD CARE ABOUT YOU? Part 2
- Remember what he’s done for you in past
- Be strengthened by what you see he has done for others
- Know you are in good company: Moses, David, Martha sister of Lazarus
God has promised us his presence and his peace. He never promised a life with no problems.
Sometimes we ask God why He didn’t show up and do what WE wanted him to do. We don’t see the plan of God and what HE is planning on doing.
It’s time to start wanting what God wants and not what we want.
Feeling alone and questioning God doesn’t mean you don’t trust Him. You may ask why?? The only thing that matters is to know that whatever you are going through He is there, His peace is there, and He will restore you
Psalm 22:14-15 …you brought me to the dust of death.
God’s shoulders are big enough to cry on, but they are also big enough to answer all the questions you have.
- Maybe you’re tired and that’s why you are doubting God.
Everything looks worse when you are tired and exhausted. Elijah needed this kind of rest.
1 Kings 19:1-8 – Elijah was tired. He just finished executing 450 prophets of Baal. He then went to the top of Mount Carmal and then ran from there about 13 miles to Jezreel, running even faster than King Ahab’s chariot. Yes indeed, Elijah was tired. He sat under the broom tree and told God he had enough, and asked God to take his life. Then he slept under the tree. An angel brought him food, he ate, and then he slept again. The angel came back, tole him to eat again because the journey ahead of him would be too great for him with the rest and food. If you don’t rest, your journey will be impossible.
Matthew 11:28 Jesus will give you the rest you need — come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
- Let God carry you. He understands you are only human.
Psalm 103:14 – He remembers we are dust – only human. He knows we are weak and where we are weak. He knows we have physical limitations. Make a conscious effort to leave your fate in God’s hands. It’s a matter of trusting Him, even in the middle of trouble. If he didn’t think you could handle this generation and this season the world is in now, you wouldn’t have been born into this time. God won’t let anything come upon you that you can’t handle.
He is never going to let you take a test that you cannot pass.
