Our Church
The historic building on the corner of Franklin and East Adams was the home of The First Baptist Church of Vandergrift since 1905, serving God and the community for over 120 years. September 2009, the church opened its doors to Pastors Mike and Debbie Mrasz, who were given an end-time vision from Haggai 2:9 - "The glory of this present house will be greater than the former house", says the Lord Almighty, "And in this place I will grant peace", declares the Lord Almighty.
Today, Pastors Jack and Debbie White have stepped into leadership after the unexpected passing of our beloved Pastor Mike. The same Spirit has given Pastor Jack White a word for the church that he now leads: "New". This revelation is grounded in Isaiah 43:19 - See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Accordingly, the Lord has ordained our new name declaring the "glory of this present house."
As we near the coming of Our Lord and King Jesus Christ, "ARISE FROM THE DARKNESS MINISTRIES" conveys a message of hope and peace at a church that offers a guiding light for overcoming the adversities we face in a world that is becoming increasingly dark. Our new name is inspired by Isaiah 60:1 - "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you."

You are also invited to worship with us at our Sunday evening service held the 3rd Sunday of each month at 6:00 p.m. This invitation is extended to you to join us after the service for a time of fellowship in our social hall.

Here at the First Baptist Church of Vandergrift our mission is to spread the good news of the gospel throughout our community and throughout the world. We do this through the support of local outreaches, as well as the international missions and outreaches of ABCOPAD.
OUR VISION
Our goal is to reach the whole world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
